Welcome to the Gentlemen Songsters' Website

The Gentlemen Songsters began in 1932 as the Chevrolet Glee Club of Detroit. It was founded by Dave Redwood a general foreman at the Chevrolet-Detroit Forge Plant who thought that men needed to do something more than work all day.

We would like to thank Peggy Bartz who has been our director for the last six seasons for sharing her talents with our chorus. We wish her the best in all her future endeavors.

We also welcome Eugene Branstrom as our new director. He has a long history of directing vocal music in the Michigan area and we look forward to continuing our tradition of bringing great music to our audiences.

We have gone back to rehearsing on Tuesdays ! We have changed our rehearsal day back to Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. Our location is the Clawson Middle School located at 150 John M. Ave. in Clawson, Michigan, near the corner of 14 Mile Road and Main St. (Livernois). The rehearsal room is in the choir room. Click here for map to school.. Parking is in the Northwest corner behind the school. At 14 Mille and N. Washington Ave. (at the Burger King) go north just a little over two blocks. A small parking lot will be on the right. Go through the double doors to the choir room.

We are members of the Great Lakes Male Chorus Association,  Each year we participate in an "Annual Sing" in which we join voices with approximately 300 singers from around the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio area. This year, we will be joining with other GLMCA choruses in Elkhart, Indiana. Click on the GLMCA District Sing tab on the left or the link on the right for more information.

We also participate in Industry Sings. This is an annual concert in the spring where we join with other industry choruses (Detroit Edison Glee Club, General Motors Employee Chorus, and Ford Motor Employees Chorus). Click on the logo to the right for more information on this year's concert.

We are available to entertain from September to July at banquets, churches, civic associations and retirement homes. Contact Dave Marks at (248) 739-1665, or online at
